Wow. It's been quite a week. In progressively worsening order, and ironically, the order of occurance, we had Alexa get Fifth's disease, Ava get the stomach flu complete with vomitting in bed and my dad had a heart attack. Oy. Thankfully, all 3 are on the way to better health.
This would make dad's second heart attack *sigh* someone needs to keep working on getting those arterties cleaner. That would be the dreaded "E" word - EXERCISE. Hopefully this is the wake up call he needs. In today's medical world, you have a heart attack on Thursday night, have an angioplasty Friday and go home Sunday morning (would have been Saturday if his blood pressure was better.) He goes back in four weeks for another angioplasty. For some reason, they don't clear all the arteries at once, no idea why. (Going to have to Google that one.)
In other news...I've completed all of my layouts for the August Smaller than a Breadbox kit from Apron Strings. One of my all-time favorite kits to work with so far. I have also whipped up a quick mini-album with the scraps and one sheet of cardstock, a card and a gift card holder. I still need to finish up the scraps, but this kit has serious mileage to it.
I was picked for "Member Monday" on the A Million Memories blog. Figured I should end on a bit of good news, right?

Project 12 and ASD layouts
I've been lacking in posting my layouts here. Blog is getting alittle neglected in the summer. But, I did finish up my May and June Project 12 layouts. I enjoy making these and being able to slide them into one album and look back at the year. I'll definitely be doing this again next year.
I'm busy creating with the August Smaller than a Breadbox kit. Love the papers in it. I've already finished two layouts with a third one just needing journaling.
June: (can it get any simpler than this? I think I may add some journaling later, I'm waiting on an order from AMM with some Cherry Hill label stickers in it.)

For my June creations with the ASD Bigger than a Breadbox kit, I put together several layouts that I neglected to post here. Oops. The first one is one of my favorites.
The "Memorial" layout was picked up for the Basic Grey Gallery. :)
On another good note, my friend and college roommate for three years (Darcy) is in town! I can't wait to see her and her daughter.

Slip-n-slide!
Remember the slip-n-slide? Cheap, easy summer fun.
Once the girls figured out how to get momentum to slide, they loved this!
It looks like John is about to tear Ava's arm off, but she LOVED this.
We had Ava's birthday party on Sunday, I have a ton of pictures to go through! Great weather on Sunday too, we were outside for almost the entire party.

Some Recent Craftiness.
I whipped both of these up in less than an hour each. I usually spend too much time obsessing on how to create my layout and just went with the flow this time.
The pictures were from our weekend up in Caseville (*note to self - post pictures tonight*) and Alexa was fascinated with the ladybug on the beach. She wanted to keep it. Uh, we have enough pets, thanks.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Ava. She doesn't really have a poker face here.
Even broke out the sewing machine for the border. I can't sew straight, so I'm going to give up trying. I'll call it an "artsy" border. ;)
I'm currently looking forward to my July Apron Strings Kit, it has some fab Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Traveler papers in it. I plan on making a mini version of the travel album Archivers is featuring from some recycled chipboard. The other page kit features October Afternoon Cherry Hill. Always love their stuff.
Hopefully tonight I can get my 4th of July pictures posted and a few from our visit to Lexington a few weeks ago.
