Where has August gone?

Because in a few short weeks (September 8th) Alexa starts Kindergarten. The last time I updated my blog we were barely into August. This summer has flown by. The last four weeks we've spent each weekend at either John's parents' cottage in Lexington or at my dad's in Caseville. Trying to squeeze in a little more beach weather before summer is gone.

I was lucky enough to get an extra Apron Strings kit to design with for August. I'll post the rest of my projects tomorrow but here is one of my new favorite lines: Lemonade by Basic Grey. Perfect for summer.

Using the Prima Mommy and Me and Doodlebug papers, I created this quick and easy gift set.

I'm currently working on the September Smaller than a Bread Box kit, and it is filled with new paper lines: Amber Road from Pink Paislee, Oooh, La, Lah from MME, and Sam from Dream Street.

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a few more ASD August projects and I won't abandon my blog for so long!

Two posts in one night?

Must be a record for me. Summer, softball and of course, hanging with my chicklets takes up most of my free time. But, I have been scrappy. Most of the projects have to wait until after the August Apron Strings Kit goes live, but I do have a mini - Jenni Bowlin bingo card - to share. All I have left to do is a bit of journaling, most of the pages are complete. I saved one bingo card for a layout.
Besides the bingo cards, I used some JB chipboard buttons as page tabs, Scenic Route paper, Glimmer Mist and die cut chipboard stars, jewels, Stickles, Thickers...just a bunch of stuff from my stash I had consolidated for the mini.

I already have a birthday set of the Jenni Bowlin bingo cards waiting for the perfect birthday party pictures. Now, I just need to finish that wood mini album I've been procrastinating on....

FINALLY! A warm(er) weekend.

One that allowed us to go on the beach WITHOUT jackets. Yeah, finally. It's August already. Hopefully this month we can make up for lost time on the beach. A few from our weekend up in Lexington. I was goofing around with the camera settings on a few pictures. Ava had a thing for laying the the sand and Alexa was interested in building sandcastles on the beach.

In other exciting news, Ava is potty trained. No more pull-ups during the day. We're still using them at night, but she will wake me to take her potty in the wee hours of the morning. :)

Next two weekends we'll be (hopefully) hanging out on the beach in Caseville for our family reunion and the Cheeseburger in Caseville festival.
