I need an Ark.

Or did we get teleported to Seattle? It rained yesterday, it's going to rain - again - tomorrow. It rained last week, and the week before. And before that. Ugh.

Becareful of what you wish for.

I had a night alone last night. I had to work late in Lansing and John wanted to take the girls up to his parents cottage to visit. A single, glorious night to myself. And what did I do? Not a damn thing. I have officially reached the "I'm old" stage. No desire to go out to the bar, or even another house. My excitement? Showering (in peace and quiet), scrapbooking and watching a DVR'd Grey's Anatomy (and SERIOUSLY, what is up with the dying kids on that show!). Yes, I know, mind blowing excitement. To top off my overly exciting night, I woke up at 6:30. So much for sleeping in.

Here's the truth. I missed them terribly (even John). Probably didn't help that I watched a Grey's Anatomy where a 6 year old girl dies. Good choice Maria. I rarely get a night like this (#2, ever). And, I did need some solitude. They are very attached to me, especially since John has had class 2 nights and one weekend day for the last 7+ months. They need to bond with him and do fun things with him. But, I can't wait for my chicklets to get home today!

Maybe we can get a couple hours outside before it rains - again. We may have secretly been teleported to Seattle. I am so sick of RAIN.
Today's high - 82. Almost 20 degrees above normal. Spring? Did I miss it?

The Zoo!

We went to the zoo on Saturday and met up with my friends and their kids. It was a perfect day for the zoo! I was able to take some great pictures, the weather was gorgeous.

We spent almost 4 hours wandering the zoo and still want to go back to see the butterflies, birds and reptiles. All the kids got along famously, but were exhausted by the end of the day.

I swear I will post some Kalahari pics. If I could only figure out how to add a slide show!

Project 12 - March Layout

Finally finished it! I like getting these summary layouts done, they are an easy way to document our month. So far, I've finished all three months of the year. I didn't have too many pictures for March, it was a quiet month. April will be a bit more difficult to narrow down.

Here is my layout for March:
I don't usually add alot of journaling to the layouts, just some quick pictures to show what we did. I used all MME Bloom and Grow papers and die cuts, along with DCWV cardstock, Elle's Studio calendars, Making Memories letters and the scallop punch from Fiskers.

I've got a few more layouts to post, but will those later. And I still have to post Kalahari pics and Zoo pics from this past weekend!

Her eyes.

Seriously. Blue.

"Oh Mom!"

This is Ava's new favorite saying. Anytime she doesn't care for what I have to say, that's her response.

"Ava, five minutes until bed time."
"Oh MOM!"

Kalahari - here we come!

We are skipping town on Easter Sunday and heading down to the water park for a night! Between John's school schedule and both of our job stresses, we all need a vacation. Got a great deal on the room too. All Alexa knows is that "We are going on a vacation. Either vacation 1, 2 or 3." (No idea which vacations she is referencing with the numbers.)

An 84 degree water park sounds fabulous, after waking up to several inches of fresh, wet snow. Some spring we're having. I can't wait for it to dry up and warm up.

Random thoughts.

There are hints of green in the grass. Starting to feel more and more like spring.

It would be nice if we could go without rain for a week. It's still awfully wet around here.

It's only a matter of days and Alexa will be have the Michigan State fight song committed to memory.

Alexa passed her hearing and vision screening with flying colors.

Rumors are flying again at GM about layoffs. I'll worry about it when it gets here. It's tiring, worrying, and sweating each round.

I'm hoping to make a run to a water park for a mini-vacation sometime soon. Summer is coming and our weekends get crazy busy.

Ava is finally saying her name. She can spell it for you no problem but never seems to want to say it. Getting there.

T-ball practice should be starting soon. I can't wait.
