Tinkerbell!

Sunday was Ava's birthday party! My little pixie was was ready for her big day. It's not easy coming up with "Tinkerbell" themed food, so I googled the idea and came up with "Magic Wand cookies." The kids LOVED the cookies.
Sugar cookies cut into stars, flowers and hearts. Take them out of the oven and immediately insert lollipop sticks (medium length). When they harden, perfect little wands. :) Decorate with frosting.

Here's my little pixie in her Tinkerbell shirt. And a cute little headband we slipped on.

First gift to make an impression on Ava - karaoke microphoneThe kids loved to jump all over our nephew Brent. He's 13 and still really great with the young ones. Thankfully, he hasn't turned into a surly teenager. I think Lisa's little boy Andrew was trying to put a hex on him in this shot.

Tinkerbell cake! All over her face.

By the end of the evening Ava was just beat. Yes, I really did take the picture upside down.
One final one of Alexa. This girl loves the camera.
The party was fun and the weather turned out to be great. We were all WHIPPED by the end of the evening. Both Alexa and Ava were asking to go to bed!
Thanks for looking!

Donut!

I've never thought of "donut" in anyway but as a "donut". Fried, yummy, waist-busting. But, Alexa has found a new way to use the word. "Donut" is her catch-all word.
"You're being a donut!"

"I dropped the puzzle piece. DONUT!"

I have got to get it on video. Even John and I have picked it up. Guess its better than swearing right?

Some views from the weekends!

The last two weekends we spent at John's parents' cottage in Lexington and then my dad's place in Caseville. A little rainy in Lexington, but the sun came out enough each day so the girls could play outside. They just LOVE getting out of the house and up to the "beach houses."

I snapped this shot of Ava, she was actually playing in a bucket of water. You would have thought it was the greatest toy ever. She enjoyed it that much.
Over 4th of July weekend, we were up in Caseville and I tried out the "fireworks" setting on my camera for the first time. I wish we were just a little bit closer (we watched them from our porch, and not the beach) I think the pictures would have come out a little better. What do you think? Not too bad for my first try.

We introduced Ava to her first ever sparkler. And with a tip I read in Creating Keepsakes (July, I believe), I got some neat pictures of the sparklers.

And my blog post wouldn't be complete without one picture of each girl, right? I love this shot of Alexa drying off on the beach. Her eyes look just like chocolate!

This weekend should be another fun weekend, we're celebrating Ava's second birthday on Sunday. :0)

Two years ago today...

Ava Rose was born! I can't believe my Boo is two years old! Where did the time go? She is developing such a personality. And a temper too. But we'll only think about the good stuff on her birthday, right? Yesterday, we stopped at a Toys R Us and let her wander the store alittle, trying to see what would catch her eye. Pretty much ANYTHING. We let her pick out a Dora purse/bag with comb, brush, hair clips, a hair dryer (she's not much a fan of the hair dryer though) and a few other accessories. She also chose a couple small cars (Ava's got a thing for cars right now), fridge magnets, a Crayola crayon piggy bank and some wooden blocks. I have no idea what to tell family to get her! I sent cupcakes to daycare, and she got her favorite dinner today, McDonalds.

Well, here are a few of my favorite flash back pictures!

Happy birthday Boo!!!!

Pictures from Caseville!

We spent last weekend up in Caseville and we'll be heading up to Lexington this weekend. The girls are all about the beach.

Until I figure out the slide show below....I've add a couple pics of my beach babes. :)

I'm going to try and add a slide show in from Photobucket. Not sure if I'm smart enough to do it though! I think I may need a tutorial!

A couple of quick pics of the tree struck by lightening

It's quite a large tree, so hopefully, it won't have to be cut down.

And a close up....

FINALLY!

Seems like forever since I was able to get on here and post! 3 long weeks with out a computer at home and my brother's computer friend (Todd) saved the day. Not only did he rebuild my computer (new hard drive and graphics card) he reloaded it with Windows XP professional, Office, a virus program AND, AND, he recovered ALL of my pictures!!!! I love that man.

Here's a few new ones. Love these smiles. Love these bright eyes.

It also seems like I just said this, but Ava is sick again. Another virus according to a probably very expensive urgent care visit. Poor boo had a temperature over 104 at daycare. My little thumbsucker picks up every germ imaginable at daycare with that little thumb.

Also, freak out moment of the month, one of the large trees in our yard was struck by lightening Saturday night. 3 AM. It was one of the loudest "crack" sounds you can imagine. John didn't find the spot until the next day. Very freaky. Thank God that tree is a good 75 feet from our house. I'll load some pics tomorrow.
Well, I'm off to bed soon. We have "strike team training" tomorrow morning. No idea what it entails, but the title probably makes it sound more important than it really is.
